Lead Insight
One or two sentences that name the most striking pattern across your archive — quoted from your own words. The thing a thoughtful friend would say after spending an afternoon reading your journals.
a private reading of your own writing
Hindsight reads years of your journals back to you and surfaces the patterns of identity, growth, and concern that emerge across them — the contradictions, the recurrences, the things you almost certainly haven’t noticed in yourself.
i. what it reads back to you
You bring the journals. Hindsight reads them carefully and produces a set of analyses you can move between like rooms in a small museum about your own life.

The recurring concerns that appear across years — work, love, grief, ambition, family — surfaced with the entries that anchor them.
The selves you describe — the ones you've grown into, the ones you've left behind, and the ones you're still circling.
The contradictions between what you say you believe and what your behavior reveals. Named carefully, not accusingly.
How you've changed — early entries versus recent ones — with specific shifts in language, focus, and self-understanding.
The most emotionally charged entries, clustered by feeling on an interactive map. Click any cluster to read the entries inside it.
A zoomable timeline of your life from your entry dates, and a semantic search you can talk to in plain language — “when did I last write about my father?”
ii. how it works
CSV, Excel, JSON exports from journaling apps, plain text, or a long brain dump. Photos and PDFs of handwritten pages work too — we extract the text and you decide how it gets split.
Each analysis is a careful read by Claude with prompts tuned to find specific kinds of patterns. Quotes are verified against your actual entries — nothing is invented or paraphrased.
Move between the seven views. Each one cites the entries it drew from, so you can always trace an observation back to the words that produced it.
iii. about your archive
Hindsight stores your entries in your own private archive. They aren’t used to train any model. Analyses are cached so the same archive doesn’t get re-read on every visit, but you can delete everything — entries, analyses, and history — from Settings at any time, with a single confirmation step.
